Canadians and a glen etive elopement
alex and Xandria
Xandria and Alex - two Canadian lovers - found us and sent us an enquiry after receiving a recommendation.
We then organized a call and knew immediately that we wanted to capture their special elopement to the Scottish highlands. They had the most amazing energy about them and they were a good laugh.
These two wanted a day that reflected them.
Intimate and real, with some fun photos to remember the whole thing in some epic places.
We set off finding the perfect spots for their elopement day. To make it just that extra bit special. Making sure to even add a stop in their for lunch.
Glencoe gave us a gorgeous bit of weather when we met with them on a misty morning in September.
We arrived at the Glencoe Inn to capture them getting ready together. This is something we absolutely adore. We love when couples choose to do something that isn’t following a tradition and
GETTING READY together ON YOUR WEDDING DAY just seems so sweet an intimate.
However, for the final dress bit, we shooed Alex into a room so we could set up a cute first look for them.
After he saw his gorgeous human all glammed up we made our way to their elopement spot – Glen Etive.
There we met up with Rachel Heys Celebrant who performed their ceremony, told their story and got them hitched whilst being surrounded by towering mountain ranges with mist dipped tops.
The two even included a handfasting and quaich into their ceremony too.
There were laughs and tears and even an attempt at rocking out the air guitar. It was just so… them.
These two are the epitome of how to plan a Glencoe elopement - Done your way.
We then set off for some more photos and went for a little adventure photo session.
We got to know these two better and made lifelong friends.
After we stopped for some fish and chips, we made our way back to the Glencoe Inn, to capture the two sharing a pint together.
Technically, it was time to go home and for these fantastic humans to enjoy their well-deserved dinner - but we were surprised by an awe inspiring sunset.
The sky was ablaze in gorgeous hues of orange and purple
– and we couldn’t help but snap the two one last time with that backdrop. After all, how often does Scotland stop raining?!
The two then clinked their glasses, we said our goodbyes and left them to bask in
the cozy atmosphere of the inn, wrapped up in one another.
Stay wild, moon child.
